Welcome to West Pacific Seafoods

West Pacific Seafoods was founded in 2002, in a remote fishing town called Tofino, located on the West Coast of Vancouver Island. Lutz Zilliken wanted to create an outlet that provided the hard working fishermen with a place to bring their catch as well as the local community with a reliable source of high quality seafood. His obsession for quality has stood the test of time as fishermen have always known not to bring him anything but the best. That drive and work ethic has carried over to everything we do. We have always been and will continue to be a trusted source for all custom processing, packing, and ready to take home products.

Thank you for being apart of the family and we look forward to seeing you soon.

Our Mission

Open Water; This phrase defines our culture, our values, ethics, fundamental goals, and our agenda. If you’re in Open Water, you are not confined by limitations and borders, the sky is the limit - we relentlessly pursue excellence in the acquisition and delivery of seafood to maintain long term relationships. We are devoted to traceable seafood and the long term health of our oceans and ecosystems. We love what we do and the chefs we serve consider us a knowledgeable resource - and part of their team.

Hook & Line Fishing!

By using Hook & Line fishing, we are able to target the exact species we are looking for. This prevents bycatch and overfishing that help sustainability of our ecosystems!

We Know Our Purveyors Personally!

We are proud to be working alongside the local First Nations communities in Tofino & Ucluelet as well as specialists across Vancouver Island since day one. Ensuring their hard work is always acknowledged and appreciated!

Kathy & Victor

Outlandish Shellfish Guild

Having moved to Cortes Island together after meeting in university, they found themselves lending a hand to a friend who had an oyster farm. Over thirty years later, several coastal locations, and lots of hard work, Kathy & Victor are happy to be founding members of Outlandish Shellfish Guild. Oyster farming is no light job and requires continuous attention and laborious hard work. With the company currently operating out of Quadra Island since 2010, Kathy & Victor have continued to practice hand picking and cleaning all of their shellfish since day one.
